About Inn at Port Gardner

Established in 1997/ The INN at Port Gardner was designed to reflect the historic waterfront of Everett. It is nestled by the sailboats on the Everett Marina and set against the backdrop of a glistening Port Susan with emerald green views of Whidbey/ Camano/ and Hat Islands. Designed by the well-known local Bumgardner Architecture firm/ the building is a mixture of steel/ glass/ concrete/ and wood with northwest views of the marina. A grand floor to ceiling fireplace welcomes the traveler in the entry lobby which is flooded by natural light. There are 33 rooms and two conference rooms along with a small ca which is also part of the building. The design received an AIA Seattle 1998 Honor Award recipient and a Commendation Award for Washington Architecture.

In the late 1800s/ Everett began to develop from the homesteaders who sought wealth from timber and ore. Because of its location to Port Gardner Bay/ the area was an ideal passageway for timber and most of its waterfront was dedicated to that industry. Everetts proximity to the ever changing and advancing technology and manufacturing industries/ from Weyerhaeuser and Fluke/ to Boeing and Kimberly Clark paper mill/ has shaped the city into what it is today. Located in the heart of Snohomish County it is the county seat and home to the most advanced hospitals/ schools and businesses. Everett remains rich in architectural history and has some of the most beautiful neighborhoods/ -especially around Grand Avenue- lively parks/ and incredible views of Port Gardner Bay. The Port of Everett and Everett Marina have transformed the waterfront and the marina has now become the largest marina on the Pacific coast with over 2/000 boats and counting. The waterfront is alive with activity/ festivals/ music and restaurants and is one of the most desirable spots for kitebaording/ due to the breakwater known as Jetty Island that sits to the west of the marina. From the marina you can take in views of Whidbey Island/ Camano Island/ Hat Island and the Olympic Mountains. In addition to having the largest marina on the Pacific coast/ Everett can also boast that it is home to the Navys newest base. The base houses the Coast Guard/ two destroyers/ and a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. Everett was given the All-American City award in 2002. Several new restaurants have taken root in the last few years and on any night of the week you can find authentic Thai/ Indian/ Mexican/ and even New York style pizza centrally located in the heart of Everett. Comcast arena brings in top professional performers throughout the year such as Santana/ Justin Bieber/ Disney on Ice and American Idol. Everett is located a short 30 minutes north of Seattle.
