Historic parkland. ------------------------------- HARRINGWORTH VIADUCT An impressive structure of 82 arches stretching for 3/4 mile across the western side of the village. It was constructed between 1874 and 1879 in blue and red brick to carry the London and Midland Railway. Each arch is 40ft in width. ------------------------------- RED KITES AT ROCKINGHAM FOREST The eagle-like Red Kite was extinct in Britain by the end of the 19th century. Now, thanks to work by the RSPB and English Nature, it is being slowly re-introduced. In Rockingham Forest there are now around 70 birds and 40 breeding pairs.
