The Chatwal is a perfect retreat for theater goers and travelers who prefer more intimate hotels. Located on the Great White Way of 44th Street, our hotel is steps from Broadway theaters and the citys media and financial giants, while offering a quiet respite of a more genteel era. Designed by Stanford White, this landmark building is a contemporary ode to a bygone era. Its 1930s Empire Art Deco look has been re-imagined by French designer Thierry Despont in rich, saturated hues of saffron, sepia, and ruby.
Our 47 guest rooms and 29 well-appointed suites boast custom luxuries while meticulously recreating 1930s Art Deco design. In-room amenities include handmade Shifman mattresses, dressed with 400-thread-count Frette linens, down comforters, and pillows; a bed linen and pillow menu; and plush custom robes designed by Kashwere. Rooms are also outfitted with leather-lined closets and nickel accents, and bathrooms feature rain-drop showers and Asprey toiletries. Private, outdoor terraces may be available for an additional fee.
Furthermore, guests enjoy the convenience of complimentary wired or wireless High Speed Internet Access, a 42 Flat Screen Television with multilingual capability, a Blu-ray/DVD player, an in-room stereo system with an iPod dock, and a laptop safe. Laptops, iPads, and iPods for use during your stay are available at no charge. Elsewhere in each room is a private bar with a custom cocktail set and menu, playing cards, a backgammon set, and an in-room reading collection.
An escape from the bustle of New York, The Red Door Spa at The Chatwal offers massages, facials, and other pampering treatments. The spa features three treatment rooms, three private changing suites with steam showers and your choice of aromatherapy, a manicure/pedicure studio, a fitness center, a relaxation lounge with refreshments, and an infinity saltwater lounge, a cold plunge pool, and a lap pool designed to simulate natural water currents. |
