The following sights are in the immediate vicinity: - the medieval island city of Lindau, the most beautiful harbour and the best preserved Old Town on Lake Constance, with romantic narrow streets, dreamy harbours and the old Town Hall dating back to 1422. Lake Constance with its sub-tropical flavour the Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen with the option of a flight around Lake Constance by fascinating zeppelin Pfander by Pfanderbahn: a cable car up to the 1,064 m high Pfander. Once there, you can watch a terrific bird of prey demonstration and look around the Alpine wildlife park, enjoy the unique 360deg panoramic view and, in winter, there are plenty of places to go tobogganing - Pfahlbauten and Unteruhldingen: 2 reconstructed villages, one from the stone age around 2200 BC, one from the Bronze Age, around 1100 BC Meersburg with its medieval fortress and the vineyard of the hinterland in the winter, unlimited fun in the snow e.g. in one of the regions most beautiful ski areas, in Lech, Zurs, St Anton am Arlberg the royal palaces in Fussen, with Bavarian King Ludwig IIs Neuschwanstein. | Our hotel is the ideal starting point from which to explore Lindau and its surrounding area. Start your cycling tour from right in front of the hotel or try Nordic Walking or jogging around the fruit orchards which begin a few metres behind the hotel building. Cyclists will discover many routes of interest, for example the Lake Constance cycle trail. The shores of the lake and the bathing beach of Eichwald - the largest such facility in Lindau, with 25,000 mA2 of sunbathing lawns, 660 m of beach, 3 heated swimming pools, a 78 m waterslide, a windsurfing school, a play garden and ancient trees offering shade a are only around 5 minutes away by bicycle. Naturally Lindau and the surrounding area also offer all the normal sports activities you would expect: try golf, on 2 beautifully set golf courses in the immediate vicinity, charter a sailing boat in Bad Schachen, enjoy windsurfing, water skiing, tennis and much more. Hiking fans wonat believe their luck: the Bregenzerwald, the Alpine Region of Vorarlberg and Swiss Toggenburg with the SA$?ntis and the Churfirsten can be found in the direct vicinity. At the same time the area benefits from good transport connections to bring visitors to sights such as Bregenz with its festival hall, Meersburg or the island of Mainau. For families with children, the Ravensburg Toyland will be another attraction. No holiday region in Germany offers so much variety in one spot. |
