Findlay has a long history of being home to automotive-related businesses. The Cooper Tire and Rubber Company was founded here, and Findlay remains its headquarters. Specialty tire maker Hercules Tire has both its worldwide headquarters and a major distribution center here as well. Also headquartered in Findlay are Sparks Commercial Tire and Sparks Auto and RV.
Thanks in part to its location on Interstate 75, Findlay has become an important warehouse distribution center for companies like Best Buy, Lowe's, Cardinal Health and Kohl's. And, even though Marathon Oil Corporation is now headquartered in Texas, Findlay remains home to one of this companys major subsidiaries, the Marathon Petroleum Company.
