There is much to see and do in the local area, with miles of sandy beaches
which play host to an array of water sports activities including windsurfing
and water-skiing. The coast teams with wildlife, such as seals, and a
sizable population of both breeding and wintering birds. Dornoch town which
dates from the 12th century is steeped in history, with the impressive
cathedral plus many quaint shops and wonderful places to eat. There are many attractions in the local area including Glenmorangie Distillery where you can find out more about the history of this wonderful malt. Also Dunrobin Castle which resembles a French chateau with its conical spires is the most northerly of Scotlands great houses, plus one of Britains oldest continuously inhabited houses dating back to the early 1300s. |
