Le Pigonnet is an idyllic 18th century country house surrounded by glorious gardens just minutes from the city walls of Aix-en-Provence. Set in tranquil gardens with beautiful flowers, age-old trees and stunning fountains, it provides a peaceful refuge.
The atmosphere here is tranquil and distinctly homely with a crackling fire in winter and the sound of cicadas on the terraces in summer. The elegant rooms are Provencal in style peppered with Italian and French objets d arts.
Spend the afternoon lazing on a rattan chair beside the pool or reading a book in a shady corner of the garden. Later, wander into Aix with its myriad of fountains and boutiques, then sit with a drink as you people watch at the famous Les Deux Garcons on Cours Mirabeau, before returning for gourmet nouvelle cuisine. |
